Social Security Implications

Poland follows EU Regulation 883/2004 for social security coordination within the EU/EEA. Poland introduced a zero-PIT regime for young workers (under 26) and returning expatriates. Remote work legislation was formalised in the Polish Labour Code in April 2023 — employers must now provide remote work regulations, reimburse costs, and maintain OSH standards for home office workers.

Poland does not offer a dedicated digital nomad visa. The April 2023 Labour Code amendments formally regulate remote work — employers must establish remote work rules, provide equipment, and cover electricity and internet costs. PE risk applies after 183 days. Polish tax residency triggers full Polish income tax liability on worldwide income.
